Indiana Cultural Opportunity Network (ICON)


Purpose:

The Indiana Association of College Admissions Counselors (INACAC) Inclusion Access and Success (IAS) Committee ICON program is designed to educate Admissions & School Counseling professionals in areas of student equity, access, and success. Participants will gain a better knowledge of student needs and barriers to higher education within Indiana and beyond. 

Participation Requirement: 

Cohort Members would commit to attending all the monthly meetings whether on campus or virtual. They are expected to attend the Transitions and INACAC Conference. Members will also be “observers” on IAS Conference Calls and will be provided with readings between each meeting to strengthen their knowledge of inclusion, access, and equity in the scope of higher education. 

Other Requirements:

  • 1+ years of admissions or school counseling experience at either the secondary or higher education level

  • INACAC or other Affiliate Membership

  • Approval from office leadership

Additionally Cohort members will receive guidance and training to seek funding to attend National Conferences like Guiding the Way to Inclusion and the National ACAC Conference.

What will participants receive:

  • 10 Face-Face or virtual meetings (one per month) with your cohort members, faculty, and special guests.

  • The ICON Binder with access to articles, books, and toolkits to help with students support

  • Access to a digital platform for continued discuss outside meetings

  • Testimonials and Advice from Leaders in Enrollment Management and Diversity

  • Lunch during Face to Face Meetings

  • ICON T-shirt

  • Registration and Participation at the Indiana Student Advocates Conference

What we are asking for participations:

  • Completed Application

  • Completed Statement of Support

  • $60 participation fee if selected

  • Full participation in all programmatic components of ICON
