Formerly known as "Summer Institute", New Counselor Institute (NCI) was created by the Professional Development Committee (PDC) of the Indiana Association of College Admissions Counselors (INACAC) to welcome new High School & College admissions counselors to the INACAC family.
The goal of this hybrid virtual/in-person program is to equip new counselors with a trove of tools and tips from professionals in the field, as well as creating a wide-spread professional network from across the state as they begin serving students and providing more equitable access to higher education.
NCI is meant to be helpful to new counselors no matter when they may be hired into the field; each month's discussion will focus on the upcoming "season" that new counselors are likely to first encounter in their roles.
What will participants receive:
The opening session of New Counselor Institute will commence on July 15, 2021. All further meetings for the semester will occur on the last Thursday of each month (unless on a holiday), with our final December meeting happening in-person. The dates for the 2021 will be as follows:
Fee & Waiver Information:
Upon registering, the participant must provide the participation fee and completed Leadership Approval Contract before the next discussion.
If you would like to participate in NCI, but feel the program fee is a barrier, there are a limited number of program fee waivers. Please apply and contact firstname.lastname@example.org to request access to the waiver.
