Monthly Webinars
NEW COUNSELOR INSTITUTE (to replace Summer Institute)
VIRTUAL “NEW COUNSELOR INSTITUTE” TO REPLACE FORMER SUMMER INSTITUTE
The Professional Development Committee (PDC) of INACAC is thrilled to announce a reimagined, virtual version of our “New Counselor Institute,” formerly known as “Summer Institute.” This monthly webinar series for new professionals—both from the high school and college sides-- will begin in August of 2020 and will culminate with attendees and faculty presenters coming together at INACAC Conference in February of 2021. This virtual series will focus on a number of topics pertaining to college admissions that are appropriate for new high school and college professionals with zero to two years of experience in the field. Best part, they can join any time based upon hiring date as all sessions will be recorded. Registration, payment details and our New Counselor Institute schedule are forthcoming. Please plan to join us for this exciting new opportunity!
If you are interested in serving as a faculty presenter for New Counselor Institute, please email IACACDevelopment@gmail.com. Even if you can't participate, we encourage you to support your new colleagues by allowing them to join us for this professional development opportunity!
Counselor Updates
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all Counselor Update events scheduled for August and September 2020 have been canceled. The Professional Development Committee is working hard to recreate free programming opportunities for High School Counselors virtually by exploring online resources, platforms, and services to assist and update INACAC membership for Admissions and High School professionals!
Middle Management
INACAC partners with IL ACAC to offer members an opportunity to attend Middle Management Institute hosted in IL. Participants will be exposed to enrollment management strategies as well as have the opportunity to meet a variety of admission professionals in management roles. Sessions will include a leadership style assessment, better understanding self-awareness, and strategies on “managing up,” just to name a few. The curriculum for this program is based on NACAC’s Admissions Middle Management Institute and is designed for professionals who aspire to or who have been recently promoted to middle management.
